(Unnecessary) Divisions of Labour

Father
Love is...
a simile - like
the NHS

Mother
Love is...
a verb

  1. verb huh? right. so it's a verb what if you used husband and wife

would it be the same or something like

    Husband
    Love is
    a verb

    Wife
    Love is
    a noun.

but mother you say, which means a lot and it's psychonalytically introspective as if the poetess tries to pinpoint how her own perception about love was shaped and what made her choose which way to go.

    Child
    Love is
    a licked finger

  2. I like your last one, nice - the other ones are for Husband and Wife types - not understanding such things I will read again.

    1. do not forget the original actors had initially been playing the role of a husband and a wife. later they became Father and Mother, love changed 'ways' and this change is the wind their offspring using their licked finger will identify themselves as this or that. the husband and wife each was a child once upon a time and love for them was a licked finger. it's a cycle.

  3. Indeed. And this a snapshot. Father mother one. Their attitude to, too, and verbatim in the case of the father! Except I remember posing it as a question at the time. Interesting.

    1. more interestingly, for a mother it's also a simile like a marriage isn't it? perhaps or usually for both.
